When Amazon founder Jeff Bezos allegedly invested in Altos Labs, it brought new focus to the growing longevity and anti-aging field.

Aging is a complex process that goes beyond cosmetic concerns such as wrinkles. It involves cellular and metabolic changes such as telomere length, inflammation, oxidative stress, and slower cell metabolism. While aging is not considered a disease, researchers are exploring cellular processes to find treatments that can slow down the aging process.

Developing a single drug to cure aging is challenging due to its complexity and its similarity to other age-related diseases like cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

Despite the growing interest and positive findings, the field of anti-aging is still in its early stages. Most research is currently at the preclinical stage, and it may take years or decades before viable anti-aging drugs are available.
