Scientists are researching dog aging, including supplement trials and genetic analysis, to unlock a greater understanding of human longevity.

While animal models are common in the scientific world, longevity researchers increasingly turn to man's best friend as a valuable source for aging insights. Current canine studies include trials for the popular longevity supplement rapamycin and analyzing the genetic impact of environmental factors and breed differences on aging.
These advancements have attracted the attention of investors beyond the animal field. Noting the forthcoming announcement of a new early-stage pet-focused fund, Garri said, "It will take a lot of time to translate [animal data] on humans but I believe that we can start early."
